SWAG CEO Sam Liu on Setting a New Standard for Taiwan’s Adult Industry
With thousands of creators and peak-time audiences reaching tens of thousands, SWAG has grown into Taiwan’s largest adult live-streaming and content platform. Beyond fulfilling adult fantasies, the platform has also become a space where creators build careers and monetize their strengths.
In this interview, CEO Sam Liu shares how SWAG evolved — and why he believes Taiwan’s adult industry deserves legitimacy, structure, and respect.
From Crisis to Clarity
In April 2021, SWAG was temporarily taken offline following a high-profile investigation. Sam fully cooperated with legal authorities, reviewed platform policies, and restructured governance mechanisms — ultimately allowing the platform to resume operations.
The incident became a turning point. Sam realized that beyond compliance, SWAG needed clearer public communication and stronger industry standards.
“When people finally walk into our office,” Sam said, “they realize we look just like any other tech startup — because we are.”
How SWAG Became an Adult Platform
Founded in 2016, SWAG originally operated as a fan-based live-streaming platform focused on private interactions. When Sam took over operations in 2017, the platform began to pivot more clearly toward adult social content, aiming to build a localized, creator-driven adult ecosystem.
A key moment came when Sam introduced a competitive ranking system with performance-based rewards. As creators competed for visibility and income, content gradually shifted toward adult expression — revealing a strong market demand.
“That’s when I realized Taiwan needed a real adult industry,” Sam said.

Sam Liu, CEO of SWAG.
Under his leadership, SWAG’s team spans both domestic and international markets and is made up of young, highly creative professionals. Emphasizing open dialogue and respect for diverse values, this philosophy shapes both his approach to the adult industry and SWAG’s corporate culture.
Becoming a “Model Student” of the Adult Industry
Sam’s vision for SWAG is twofold:
locally, to become a benchmark for Taiwan’s adult industry;
globally, to grow into Asia’s leading Chinese-language adult content platform.
To achieve this, SWAG has implemented some of the industry’s strictest compliance measures, including multi-layer content review, mandatory age verification, removal of high-risk interaction features, and ongoing collaboration with child-protection organizations such as iWIN.
“Our goal is not to push boundaries recklessly,” Sam emphasized. “It’s to prove that adult entertainment can be responsible, transparent, and lawful.”

Originally launched as a live chat platform centered on one-to-one private messaging, SWAG later transformed into an adult-content-focused platform. Today, creators provide services including live streaming, original video content, and time-limited stories.
De-Stigmatizing Sex and the People Behind It
Sam believes that adult entertainment has long been unfairly stigmatized.
“Sex is a natural part of human civilization,” he said. “In Europe, the U.S., and Japan, adult performers are recognized as professionals. There’s no reason they should be treated as inferior.”
He argues that Taiwan — as one of the most open and democratic societies in the Chinese-speaking world — has a unique opportunity to develop a regulated, dignified adult industry.
Looking ahead, Sam hopes to work with other industry players to establish formal associations, engage with policymakers, and collaborate with academic and gender-studies institutions to promote education and open dialogue.

To produce high-quality adult content that transforms raw desire into sensual expression and elevates pleasure through artistry, SWAG offers professional development resources for its creators — including performance training led by acting and performing-arts instructors to enhance on-camera skills.
A Question That Says It All
At one point in the interview, he summed up his perspective with a blunt but honest line:
“I just want an orgasm. Is that really so hard?”
For Sam, the statement reflects something deeper — a call to treat sexuality as natural, healthy, and worthy of open discussion, rather than fear or moral panic.
SWAG’s story, he believes, is not just about adult content, but about how society chooses to confront desire, freedom, and human dignity.
