SWAG Live is a leading global media and entertainment company that produces and distributes premium adult streaming content to worldwide audiences across both web and app platforms. SWAG Live continues to grow its global footprint and is looking to hire a Backend Staff Engineer.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer to join our Backend Team. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems to support our growing user base. You will lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the backend team in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable code and architecture.

  2. Utilize expert knowledge of Python and MongoDB to develop efficient and maintainable backend solutions.

  3. Design and implement real-time communication protocols to support interactive features and seamless user experiences.

  4. Leverage containerization technologies to deploy and manage backend services.

  5. Collaborate with stakeholders, including design and product teams, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.

  6. Proactively identify and resolve issues, including debugging in production environments.

  7. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the backend team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  2. Over 5 years of backend development experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

  3. Expert knowledge of Python and MongoDB.

  4. Strong understanding of designing scalable code and architecture.

  5. Experience with a codebase deployed to a large traffic service, optimizing performance and reliability.

  6. Experience with debugging in production environments.

  7. Experience managing a team of engineers, providing mentorship and guidance.

  8. Experience working with stakeholder teams such as design and product.

  9. Knowledge and development of real-time communication protocols.

  10. Experience with containerization technologies.

  11. Experience with media processing such as video filtering and encoding

  12. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have

  1. Contributions to or maintenance of open-source projects, demonstrating a commitment to the developer community.

  2. Experience with Flask and Celery

  3. Experience working with various databases, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in database management and optimization.
